New Self Storage Facilities on the Rise in Texas

This past week has marked a number of significant developments in the self storage industry. There have been new facilities constructed in Texas for SurePoint as long-time developers came together to solidify their place in the self storage industry. The company has undertaken an aggressive initiative to grow the brand in the greater San Antonio area. The recent ground breaking for a new facility is the latest step forward in creating more self storage facilities in the area.

Brian Cisarik, Robert Loeb, and Jeff Bailey are the developers working on the project that is expected to be completed in January 2015. The facility will have 113, 000 square feet dedicated solely to self storage units. For two of the developers, this is not their first time entering the market. Cisarik and Loeb have been active in the self storage industry since 2001. Once of their firs projects was the Austin Highway Self Storage in 2003, which would later become an important factor in revamping the area.

San Antonio residents will soon become very well acquainted with the name SurePoint Self Storage due to Cisarik and Loeb’s existing presence in the area. Their other facilities, including Castle Hills and 3009 Self Storage, will be rebranded as SurePoint Storage. Once complete, the new SurePoint facility will mark one of many that the developers have in store for San Antonio self storage.

Other plans that are currently in the works for this company include a 110, 000 square foot facility at NW Military Highway and George Road, which will get started in July. A third self storage facility, which will also be 110, 000 square feet will begin construction in December. This facility will be located on the corner of Bulverde Parkway and Roseheart.

The renewed interest in developing these self storage facilities in San Antonio is partly due to SurePoint’s owners recognizing the potential of the industry. According to the San Antonio Biz Journal, Cisarik stated, “The self-storage sector is going a bit crazy now. There is a lot of new development, which is something we’re concerned about,” he continued. “However, we really like these three locations and are confident we’ll be successful.” SurePoint developers are hoping that the strategically chosen sites will help to give them a competitive edge in the self storage industry.
