We know you have more than enough options when renting self storage and sometimes they all seem the same. With nearly 50, 000 self storage facilities in the U.S. alone, it’s hard to run out of options. However, renting self storage doesn’t have to be a mundane task. From high-tech to underground storage, there are a few self storage facilities out there that will make you reconsider how you look at self storage. Check them out:
• RoboVault – Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, this state-of-the-art, high-tech facility has been heralded as “self storage for the rich and famous”. When we covered the opening of the facility in April, we gave you an in-depth look at the building that is almost impossible to penetrate. With fingerprint and retinal scanning technology, RoboVault takes the privacy and security of its customers very seriously. What’s the cost to store here? Well, the rich always say if you have to ask the price, you probably can’t afford it. Prices aren’t listed publicly on RoboVault’s website but if any of our readers have any inside information, we’d love to know.
• Citadel Caverns – Based in a former underground limestone mine, this is one of the few facilities in the United States that specializes in underground storage. The purchase of the mine and the opening of the facility caused such a buzz in the self storage industry and left many persons wondering whether or not this was the future of self storage. The jury is still out on that matter but in the meantime, the location of Citadel Caverns makes it excellent for climate controlled storage.
• Murfreesboro Self Storage – Uniqueness in self storage isn’t limited to the design or location of the facility; the business model counts as well. This self storage facility not only offer month long storage, but also weekly and daily rentals. It’s hard to find that convenience since most self storage facilities opt to encourage customers to rent long term, such as yearly or for 6 months. If you’re storage needs don’t span so far into the future, then this is a great option to store on a short-term basis.
• Wine Storage Bellevue – While the concept of specialized self storage facilities is not new, this one is certainly making a name for itself. Named ‘Specialty Self Storage Facility of the Year’ in 2010, Wine Storage Bellevue is an 8, 000-square feet property that is solely dedicated to storing wine. If you’re a seasoned wine collector or new aficionado, this facility can help to keep your wine stored correctly in a cool environment.
